Kennel Policies
Here are a few of the policies which we have
developed through time and experience ...
-
We do not accept deposits or reservations.
It is tremendously important to match the personality and needs of each puppy
to the personalities and lifestyles of the future owners. Before puppies
reach a certain age, we just don't know whether the "right" puppy for a
particular family is in a litter. It is not fair to
puppy or buyer to commit when puppies are too young to know what each will be
like, or to choose by factors like color, markings, or gender.
-
That said, we often have a waiting list.
Think of it as time to get to know each other better. We will keep
in touch and let you know when we think we have the perfect puppy or adult Corgi
for your situation.
-
For safety, we do not ship our puppies. We require a face to face meeting with prospective Corgi owners,
plus references. When possible, a home visit helps us visualize where the
puppy will live, and helps us troubleshoot problems before they arise.
-
We require a written agreement to protect the
Corgi's future health, safety, and welfare. Except for the rare instance
in which we sell a puppy as a show prospect (and this is usually only to someone
with a proven track record in show or performance) we sell all puppies on
limited registrations with a spay/neuter agreement.
-
Generally speaking, we require a fenced yard
and prefer not to sell baby puppies into a home where all adults work full time.
However, we have seen situations in which very motivated owners make it work,
and we are always willing to talk over your special circumstances and help you
work out a plan!
